Description

The Assistant Director of Marketing for Vanderbilt Universitys College of Connected Computing (CCC) will lead the development implementation and execution of creative strategic marketing branding and public relations initiatives that elevate the Colleges unique national profile. This role will design campaigns that go beyond traditional Vanderbilt outreachbuilding connections with new audiences enhancing awareness of our groundbreaking programs and positioning the College as a national leader in computing technology and innovation.


The ideal candidate will be an inventive storyteller a strategic communicator and a collaborative partner skilled at developing integrated marketing strategies that inspire engagement from industry leaders prospective students alumni donors and the general public.


About the College of Connected Computing
The College of Connected Computing is Vanderbilts first new college in 40 years and is currently developing its administrative structure. The new interdisciplinary college will advance breakthrough discoveries and strengthen computing education through a computing for all approach. The college will be rapidly growing over the course of the next three years.


Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & PR Leadership
Develop and implement integrated marketing branding and PR strategies that communicate the Colleges distinct vision and value nationally.
Identify and leverage compelling stories research breakthroughs and faculty/student achievements to engage new audiences beyond traditional academic channels.


Brand Awareness & Positioning
Establish a clear cohesive brand identity for the College across digital print and media platforms.
Ensure consistent messaging that reflects the Colleges innovation academic excellence and societal impact.


Creative Campaign Development
Design multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital social print broadcast) to promote programs events research and initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams and university communications to align campaigns with institutional goals.
Partnership & Outreach Expansion
Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders media outlets community organizations and alumni to amplify the Colleges reach.
Coordinate with development and advancement teams to support fundraising and donor engagement efforts.


Content & Collateral Creation
Oversee production of marketing materials videos and digital content showcasing the Colleges work.
Guide social media strategy and online presence to foster engagement and thought leadership.


Performance Measurement & Reporting
Define and track key performance indicators to assess marketing impact.
Use data insights to refine strategies and report results to senior leadership.


Supervisory Relationship:
This position may provide direct and/or indirect supervision to professional or student workers. The position reports functionally and administratively to the Dean of the College of Connected Computing.


Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
5 years of professional marketing branding or public relations experience preferably in higher education technology or innovation-focused organizations.
Proven ability to develop and execute successful national marketing campaigns.
Strong storytelling writing and content creation skills.
Proficiency with marketing platforms digital advertising analytics tools and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience building partnerships with media industry and community organizations.
Creative thinker with a track record of innovative audience-focused campaigns.
Organized detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment
