Position Summary
Harness is on the lookout for a dynamic Software Engineering Manager to spearhead our Billing & Licensing initiatives within the Platform Engineering Organization. This is not just another roleits an opportunity to build something truly transformative from the ground up.
Youll be leading a distributed team across multiple geographies tackling a greenfield project designed to process millions of events daily while delivering a seamless AWS-like billing experience for our customers.

About the role
- Were building the future of Billing & Licensing at scaleand we want you at the helm. As an Engineering Manager you wont just manage projects; youll shape the core architecture of a platform designed to handle millions of events with sub-second response times. This is about building mission-critical infrastructure that rivals the scale and sophistication of world-class platforms like AWS.
- Youll work side by side with brilliant engineers and architects making key technology decisions that power multi-tenant high-concurrency low-latency and secure data access. Youll own the entire stackarchitecture development deployment sustainability and production operationsand ensure it performs at its peak.
- As a technical leader youll drive code quality performance and best practices ensuring every line of code is reliable scalable and production-ready. Beyond execution youll define and evolve the technical vision build roadmaps that anticipate the future and inspire your teams to push boundaries.

About you
- Proven Leader: 3 years leading high-performing engineering teams balancing technical depth with people leadership.
- Builders Mindset: 5 years building SaaS applications in backend (Java/Go) roles with a passion for hands-on architecture and coding.
- Organization Builder: A track record of assembling and scaling world-class engineering orgs.
- Global Collaborator: Comfortable leading teams and working with customers across time zones.
- Customer-Obsessed: Youve directly influenced customer satisfaction and know what it takes to deliver mission-critical customer-facing software.
- Performance-Driven: Skilled in building data-intensive low-latency systems that deliver seamless user experiences.
- Battle-Tested: Strong command of managing production incidents and leading effective on-call rotations.
- Technically Grounded: BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
