In this senior leadership role youll oversee multiple teams and organizations tackling complex problems involving design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems optimization of data storage systems and Big Data analytics. Youll develop and execute organizational strategy for next-generation automation systems align technical roadmaps across organizations and drive intelligent solutions for automated code and network configuration generation hands-free troubleshooting and sophisticated impact analysis tools. Your organizations will be responsible for building self-healing infrastructure and automated deep dive capabilities that quickly identify root causes across vast amounts of operational data.

Were seeking an experienced senior technical leader with a proven track record in managing organizations building highly-scalable cloud-based distributed services with millisecond latency requirements. You should have deep expertise in Service Oriented Architecture microservices and both relational and non-relational databases. Experience leading multiple engineering organizations driving cross-organizational technical strategy and delivering multi-year strategic initiatives is essential.

Key job responsibilities
Build and lead multiple teams of software engineers and managers establishing organizational vision and technical strategy
Develop senior technical leaders and managers through coaching and mentorship
Lead organizational design headcount planning and strategic hiring initiatives
Drive engineering excellence across organizations through standardization of processes and best practices
Define technical strategy and architecture roadmap across multiple domains
Lead cross-organizational technical initiatives and drive alignment across teams
Establish technology standards and drive adoption of best practices across organizations
Oversee development of sophisticated impact analysis and monitoring solutions that ensure system reliability and performance at scale
Partner with senior leadership product and program management organizations to define and execute multi-year strategic roadmaps
Drive cross-organizational collaboration and alignment with peer organizations globally
Represent the organization in senior leadership forums and strategic planning sessions
Establish organizational mechanisms for maintaining technical excellence and operational standards
Define and measure organizational health metrics
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making

Our vision is to build a real-time intelligent and intuitive hands off the wheel fully automated system to model Amazons complex transportation network. This network processes millions of requests per second to determine guaranteed delivery dates and optimal transportation paths managing billions of attributes including warehouses routes time windows and costs. Our Transportation Optimization systems make critical decisions that impact billions of dollars annually setting new standards for online shopping experience. Were building automated transportation configuration management systems complete with automated diagnostics made possible by advances in AI.
