Job Description

  • ECT Religious Education Teacher required to work full-time from January 2026

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Religious Education to join a successful and values-led secondary school in Herefordshire. This is a full-time role beginning in January 2026 with a structured induction and mentoring programme to support your transition into the profession. You will deliver engaging RE lessons across KS3 and KS4 encouraging pupils to think critically about faith ethics and philosophy while also contributing to enrichment opportunities such as faith-based clubs debate groups and trips to places of worship.

Experience and Qualifications
ECT Religious Education Teacher (PGCE or equivalent completed)
Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies / Theology / Philosophy
Passion for helping students explore moral spiritual and cultural questions
Reflective collaborative and committed to professional growth
Legal right to work in the UK

School Information
This is a Catholic 1116 voluntary aided secondary school set in the village of Lugwardine just outside Hereford. The school is highly regarded locally regularly achieving some of the best GCSE results in the county with RE among its strongest subjects.

With around 900 pupils on roll the school is consistently oversubscribed and known for its excellent behaviour high expectations and strong pastoral ethos rooted in Catholic values.
