This is an exciting opportunity to teach Music across Key Stages 35 inspiring students to develop their creativity technical skills and passion for performance. You will play a central role in continuing the schools strong tradition of music-making which includes choirs orchestras ensembles and large-scale musical productions.

This is a high-achieving 1118 mixed comprehensive school with an enrolment of approximately 1500 pupils including a vibrant Sixth Form of over 400 students. The school is recognised both locally and nationally for its academic excellence and rich co-curricular programme with Music regarded as one of its flagship departments.
The Music Department is housed in a purpose-built block offering:
A fully equipped music technology suite with industry-standard software and hardware.
Multiple dedicated practice rooms to support one-to-one tuition and ensemble rehearsals.
A large performance hall with professional-standard acoustics regularly used for concerts musicals and external events.
The department is highly successful at GCSE and A-Level consistently achieving results well above national averages. Many students go on to study Music at top universities and conservatoires and the department has built close links with external organisations such as the Royal College of Music National Youth Orchestra and local theatre groups.
Beyond the classroom Music is central to the schools identity. Students participate in a wide range of co-curricular opportunities including:
Multiple choirs orchestras and jazz bands.
Termly concerts and recitals.
Annual whole-school musical productions which bring together music drama and dance.
Local and international music tours and exchange programmes.

Degree in Music or a closely related subject
PGCE or QTS
Ability to teach Music at KS3/4 (KS5 desirable)
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for music-making
Willingness to contribute fully to choirs orchestras and school performances
This Music Teacher role will be paid to scale (MPS/UPS) on a permanent contract. Additional allowances may be available for candidates who take on wider responsibilities within the department or co-curricular programme.
