JOB TITLE: General Fabrication Specialist
LOCATION: New Orleans LA
PAY RATE: $26-36.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

• Schedule: Full-Time 1st Shift (6:00 AM 2:30 PM) Potential move to 2nd Shift (2:00 PM 10:30 PM) based on workload

• Work Schedule: No 9x80 Occasional weekend OT depending on workload.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Operate and maintain specialized Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machinery.

• Prepare materials inspect welds for quality and perform routine machine maintenance.

• Collaborate with engineers on process development and problem-solving.

• Perform welding machining sheet metal fabrication tube bending and extrusion tasks.

• Assemble and repair mechanical electro-mechanical and avionics components.

• Conduct composite lay-up soldering wire harness assembly and system installation.

• Prepare test articles fixtures and data collection devices.

• Apply coatings for corrosion protection and appearance standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

• 3 years operating Friction Stir Welding machinery.

• Strong knowledge of welding tools metallurgy and welding processes.

• Ability to work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Trade school training in welding or related technical discipline.
