Job Description

Houston TX Hybrid 3days week Downton
Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in R and Python (min 4 years Python; < 2 years is a dealbreaker).
  • Experience migrating codebases and translating documentation.
  • Familiarity with data-intensive solutions.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Kubernetes/KFP Dask Operator Web API development SQL.
  • Experience with R packages like dplyr and purrr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate and refactor existing R code into Python.
  • Data processing cleaning and dataframe management.
  • Maintain and document code during migration from R to Python.
  • Python development for additional tasks as needed.
  • Mainly shifting codebase from very statistical R to Python candidates need to be proficient in R and Python they are refactoring a significant body of code from one base to another and that will be the bulk of the work but some other work can pop up with Python development. Mainly data processing and data cleaning dataframe management and dataframe manipulation R can be a little dated but still must be proficient first priority will be translating code and documentation. Migrating a codebase 4 years of programming in Python experience building and designing data-intensive solutions Kubernetes/KFP distributed compute/Dask Operator Web API development is a plus SQL is a nice to have since its already written
