As Amazon rapidly becomes the worlds largest consumer of corporate services our Global Corporate Procurement team is seeking a Indirect Procurement Manager to join the APAC team. This role will be based in Tokyo JP.

Indirect Procurement Manager working under the general direction of more senior team members manage strategic sourcing engagements as a central team supporting a wide range of Amazon and subsidiary business this pivotal role youll design innovative sourcing strategies and lead sourcing engagements across a wide range of business units. Your mission Improve performance optimize efficiency ensure top-notch quality and enable new initiatives to launch and scale with lightning speed.

Demonstrating a passionate commitment to procurement excellence you will flawlessly handle and execute sourcing initiatives communicating efficiently and effectively with stakeholders across various business units. Adept at juggling multiple priorities you will thrive in the fast-paced dynamic environment contributing to both short-term tactical and long-term strategic efforts.

Indirect Procurement Manager will be considered for the Global Corporate Procurement Rotational Program. This two-three year program offers career development through exposure to multiple procurement functions. Strategic Sourcing Specialists will: gain experience in various procurement categories learn supplier risk management techniques develop contract negotiation skills build a network across the company receive mentorship from senior leaders.

A day in the life
As Procurement Manager you will support sourcing projects from start to finish. This will involve closely engaging with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders to identify sourcing strategy - that balances business needs effort and efficiencies.

1) Review spend data and market trends for key indirect spend categories
2) Participate in cross-functional team meetings to align on sourcing priorities and requirements
3) Conduct market research and prepare RFP documents for upcoming sourcing projects
4) Manage the RFP process evaluate proposals negotiate commercial deal terms and contracts and create award recommendations
5) Contribute to the development of category management plans
6) Provide procurement analytics and insights to support data-driven decision making
7) Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in strategic sourcing

About the team
Key coverage areas are typical indirect corporate categories: Marketing Professional Services HR and Employee Services Technology Logistics Real Estate and Facilities services.

- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 3 years of industry work experience

- Experience working in a matrixed organization
- A) 3 years of in-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management benchmarking should-cost models RFX reverse auction contracting etc.).
- B) MBA/MS degree.
- C) Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business.
- D) Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics.
- E) Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
- F) Working knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
- G) Ability to assess risk and concisely explain complex issues to principal business owners.
- I) Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data.
- J) Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication organization time management and problem-solving skills.
- K) Excellent written and oral communication skills.
