St. Lukes Community House in West Nashville is seeking an enthusiastic energetic and motivated Programs Specialist to join our dedicated staff. This is a unique opportunity to work with all facets of St. Lukes programs and services. This position will also be responsible for helping to spread the word about St. Lukes by representing the organization at community events. Position Summary The Programs Specialist is a full-time position that supports all St. Lukes programs ensures St. Lukes services are known about throughout the Nashville community and assists with creating a consistent pipeline of referrals to all programs. Position Responsibilities Community Outreach - Attend community events and other activities to increase visibility for St. Lukes Community House that generates program referrals.
- Work with Program staff to understand programmatic goals to effectively market programs to the community and referral partner organizations.
- Work with Volunteer Coordinator to plan and execute client outreach events such as Halloween Trunk or Treat Community Events etc.
Program Support Preschool - Fills in for any classroom when a teacher is out sick or on vacation leave.
- Cover teacher breaks and provide classroom support as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining best practices as outlined by St. Lukes Child Development Center TNDHS and NAEYC.
- Follows all policies and procedures outlined in St. Lukes Employee Handbook and Job Description and TNDHS.
- Supports the programs philosophy-regarding how children learn through play positive discipline making students families and co-workers feel safe and loved.
Community Support Services - Helps to cover the Front Desk as needed.
- Steps in to help package and distribute food boxes.
- Drives Mobile Meals routes when volunteers call out or are unavailable.
- Assists with Senior Friends activities.
- Assists with execution of St. Lukes Christmas Toy Store.
- Acts as a greeter for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
- Participates and helps with Family Empowerment Program (FEP) events.
- Completes data entry into Salesforce database as needed.
General Responsibilities - Upholds the confidentiality and professionalism expected of all staff and lives the values of the organization: Community Dignity Respect Integrity Sustainability.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures of St. Lukes Community House.
- Represents St. Lukes in a consistent persuasive and professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Education and Experience - High School Diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience working with disenfranchised populations and /or in low-income communities.
Skill Competencies - Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Engaging enthusiastic and energetic demeanor.
- Strong ability to effectively interface with the public.
- Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative. Strong ability to manage time efficiently.
- Some knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends when necessary.
- Adaptability to changing demands deadlines and priorities.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements - While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public clients and/or vendors
- Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to talk or hear sit stand walk reach climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl taste or smell.
- Ability to move 25 pounds
Other Requirements Position requires the incumbent to have a valid drivers license vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for the last three addition the candidate must be able to pass a drug test and have a clear background check.
