We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physicians Assistant) specializing in Emergency this role you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring timely and effective treatment making a significant impact on patient outcomes and satisfaction.
As a Locum NP or PA in Emergency Medicine you will be involved in a variety of fast-paced and challenging medical cases ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. Your ability to think quickly make sound decisions under pressure and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team will be key to success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient assessments and examinations in the emergency department.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on their medical conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays blood work and ECGs.
- Perform procedures including wound care suturing and splinting as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide patient education on medical conditions treatment options and preventive care.
- Document all patient interactions diagnoses treatments and follow-up plans accurately.
- Adhere to clinical protocols guidelines and quality standards in the emergency department.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
- Certification in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Schedule: 8a-8p or 10a-10p
Will cover multiple facilities
Daily Census: 90 patients
Support Staff: Emergency medicine MDs
EMR: Meditech Expanse
Board certification required
