Description
We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency this role you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in need of urgent attention. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals in emergency situations. As a Locum MD or DO you will be involved in a variety of fast-paced and challenging medical cases making quick decisions to save lives and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat patients with acute medical conditions in the emergency department.
- Perform medical procedures such as intubation suturing and wound care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients treated.
- Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for emergency medical care.
- Participate in continuous medical education and training programs.
- Communicate effectively with patients families and staff members in a compassionate manner.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Schedule: 7a-7p 7p-7a or 24-hour shifts
Annual Volume: 3k patients
Daily Volume: 8 patients
EMR: Medhost
Must be board-certified
