Job Description:

L3Harris IMS is seeking a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in support of multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. This position will be responsible for the management of all aspects of their security program. This position will include preparation of security plans review/enforcement of applicable guidelines and establishment of procedures for all areas of responsibility which includes coordination with Personnel Security staff Information Security in coordination with the site Information Systems Security Manager Physical/Technical Security Classification Management Communication Security (COMSEC) and Program Security.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned SCIF and adjust staffing/personnel as needed to support customer requests.
  • Prepare and submit Fixed Facility and TEMPEST checklists in support of facility accreditations.
  • Train/equip/mentor/develop ACSSOs Program Security Representatives and other Security Staff.
  • Communicate within and outside of organization to explain and influence changes to policies practices or approaches.
  • Partner with all areas of the business including but not limited to: Operations Proposals Contracts and Facilities.
  • Interface with and build relationships with key customers.
  • Provide strategic planning in partnership with management for current/changing program/facility requirements.
  • Work to influence others to accept individual or teams views or practices and changes to concepts practices and approaches.
  • Work consists of making significant improvements or implementation of new processes systems solutions or products to enhance performance of job area
  • Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.
  • Root Cause Analysis investigations and Corrective Action Plans.
  • Investigate security incidents and violations; prepare reports of investigations for the corporation and customers making specific recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling storing and transportation of program assets.
  • Prepare Emergency Action Plans in accordance with customer guidelines.
  • Manage document control and program asset management and accountability.
  • Process visit authorizations personnel access request.
  • Prepare co-use/joint use agreements between internal and external customers.
  • Experience with DD-254s.
  • Oversee areas of local T-SCIF operations.
  • Assist leadership with future program planning and bidding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related lieu of a degree a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI eligibility is Required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) Executive Orders Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
  • Strong interpersonal skills/briefing skills; communicate with senior level internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations and independent decision making with minimal direct supervision while representing the security organization.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to articulate and present intelligent decisive and risk-managed security recommendations and decisions daily.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical to the success of this position.
