Job Description

Summary

Public Health Seattle & King County is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our vibrant multi-disciplinary and diverse team at our Downtown Public Health Clinic in the delivery of health services to the countys most vulnerable people. This is a FLOAT full time career service position. Our clients are culturally socially and linguistically diverse. Applicants should be committed to working with diverse populations to provide excellent customer service to people from a broad range of cultures communities backgrounds and experiences including people experiencing homelessness and/or mental illness. This position supports and advances the Community Health Services Divisions values for fair and culturally-competent service delivery innovative effective and efficient application of resources building a culture of performance expanding opportunities to seek input and listen and respond to clients.

This full-time (1.0 FTE) position typically works Monday through Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm. Schedule will be based on work assignment. These positions are subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and overtime eligible


Work Location

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite work. The successful candidate may be expected to report to the office for onsite work typically (5 times per week). The frequency of onsite work may vary based on business or operational needs and be adjusted accordingly. The primary onsite location is (Downtown Public Health - 2124 4th Ave. Seattle WA 98104). Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.


Job Duties

The Patient Services Representatives are the initial contact a client has when they come into or call a Public Health Center. Responsibilities include:

During and after client visits responsibilities include:
  • Accurately completing documentation and data information for billing in a timely fashion and processing referrals for field staff
  • Other duties include using a variety of computer programs including: Epic (an electronic health record program) and Microsoft Office products
  • Making appointment reminder and outreach phone calls making copies faxing and other general office and clerical duties

  • Health or Dental care customer service experience
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills knowledge and ability required to perform the work.
  • Ability to travel within the county to fill staffing shortages
