Job Description

The De Parys Group has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offeredon a part-time basis working 26 hours per week.

The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within the required timeframe. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
  • Responding to all queries and requests from chemists nursing homes and district nurses regarding the issue of prescriptions.
  • Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal such as letters and doctors requests.
  • Sending out review letters.
  • Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients relevant to their prescribing needs.
  • Prescribing Incentive Scheme issue reports and letters working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
  • Medicine management liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
  • General ad hoc administration work.
  • Flexibility to cover other areas when required multi-skill mix.
  • Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols relevant to the position.

To be considered for the position the ideal candidate will:

  • demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
  • demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
  • General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
