Job Title: Redeemer Camp Coordinator Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Camp) Location: Redeemer Austin Supervisor: Amanda Iwabuchi Job Summary: The Summer Camp Coordinator at Redeemer Camp will oversee the planning organization and execution of summer camp programs for elementary-aged children. This role involves managing daily camp operations leading and supporting staff coordinating activities and ensuring a safe engaging and Christ-centered environment for campers. The ideal candidate is a strong leader excellent communicator and passionate about creating joyful and meaningful experiences for children. Key Responsibilities: - Program Planning and Execution:
- Design and coordinate daily camp activities that promote fun friendship creativity and personal growth.
- Ensure that activities are age-appropriate and inclusive.
- Manage camp schedules and adapt plans as needed due to weather or camper needs.
Supervision and Safety: - Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers through proactive supervision and clear protocols.
- Maintain a clean organized and welcoming camp environment.
- Handle camper discipline in a positive and respectful manner.
Staff Leadership and Support: - Lead and mentor camp counselors and junior staff ensuring they are well-prepared and confident in their roles.
- Organize daily check in with each staff member on the summer camp ministry team that you oversee provide on-the-spot support and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Assign duties and monitor staff performance offering feedback and encouragement.
Camper Engagement and Development: - Build meaningful relationships with campers helping them feel known valued and included.
- Encourage camper participation in all activities and support their emotional and social development.
- Address camper concerns or conflicts with compassion and problem-solving skills.
Communication and Coordination: - Work closely with camp leadership and other program coordinators to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate with parents as needed regarding camper needs behaviors or camp highlights.
- Prepare weekly summaries to share in Summer Newsletters prior to the beginning of a new camp week.
Qualifications: - Experience in youth programming camp coordination or related leadership roles.
- Strong leadership organization and communication skills.
- A heart for ministry and a desire to create a positive Christ-centered camp experience.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and remain calm under pressure.
- Comfortable working outdoors and participating in physical camp activities.
Working Conditions: - Must be physically able to lead and participate in outdoor games walking standing for long periods and engaging with children in active settings.
- Will work in varying outdoor conditions throughout the summer.
