The Middle School Social Studies Teacher would be responsible for all lessons in Social Studies to students in grades 6th-8th. The middle school Social Studies teacher is accountable for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support students acquisition and application of the Social Studies curriculum aligned with the standards of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Essential Functions
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with curriculum standards set by the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
- Assess student understanding through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Maintain an accurate and updated gradebook ensuring both students and parents have an understanding of academic progress.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field
- Valid MSDE teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
- Strong content knowledge in middle school Social Studies disciplines.
- Previous teaching experience particularly at the middle school level is preferred.
Range: $40000 - $86000 Annualized
