At CGI we are looking for a Java Developer to join an international project.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Software Engineering or related fields.
- Conversational English (B2 or higher).
- 8 years of hands-on experience with Java (JDK 8).
- Strong expertise in web services (RESTful/SOAP) development and integration.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL Oracle) with strong SQL skills.
- Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving debugging and communication skills.
- GCP Pub Sub GKE.
Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain Java-based applications with an emphasis on scalability performance and reliability.
- Build and consume RESTful and/or SOAP web services.
- Work with relational databases to design schemas write queries and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture DevOps QA business stakeholders) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to system design decisions and recommend innovative solutions.
- Support cloud-native development and deployment preferably in GCP (Pub Sub GKE).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with the Quarkus framework.
- Exposure to containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
Complementary Skills:
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
- Adaptability to fast-paced environments and evolving technologies.
- Ownership mindset with attention to detail and quality.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
