Veterinary Technician

AtWignall Animal Hospitalyoullfeel the warmth and openness of a small clinic while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is passionate about animal care highly motivated and pays attention to detail. Our Veterinary Technicians are the heartbeat of our team and work side byside withour Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures.A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hoursa weekwhich includes opening/closing block scheduling (when available) and at least one Saturday/month.
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients.With each hospital functionassistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
- Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour states Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Provide anesthesia and monitoring for procedures and surgery
- Monitoring and assessing patients status
- Dental radiographs scaling and polishing is
- Knowledge and use of medical math
- Perform in-house diagnostics to include radiographs bloodwork urinalysis (viacysto) and other testing
- Placing catheters
- Assistinmaintainingrelevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean sterile organized treatment areas exam rooms and labs.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options medications andadditionaltreatments.
- Be willing to guide mentor and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Veterinary technician experience
- Surgery experience required
- At least 1 year of clinical experience
- Basic tech skillsinclude venipuncture anesthesia nursing care
- Commitment to working within a team environment
- Positive will-do attitude
- Team player with flexibility
- Strong communicationand relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting
- Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
- AnAssociates or Bachelorsdegree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Ability tolift upto 50 pounds squatting reach standing and walking throughout the day.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $24-28/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
