The Purchasing Agent is responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role supports strategic sourcing initiatives by managing purchase orders maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. This individual may be required to follow up with internal customers for the receipt of goods or services. The Purchasing Agent provides support to internal customers on order status. The Purchasing Agent may be tasked with drafting simple agreements.
Job Responsibilities:
Create/manage purchase orders for timely purchase of goods
Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery
Follow up with internal customers for goods receipt
Identify alternative suppliers
Review contracts and invoices for alignment with purchase terms
Provide customer service to internal customers and external suppliers
Draft simple agreements (NDAs etc) to support the team
Resolve purchasing and invoicing issues with suppliers
Analyze data and identify trends
Support department initiatives
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management or a related field
Knowledge of the purchase order process
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
Experience using SAP Ariba solution a plus
Excellent PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office 365 including Excel PowerPoint and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills displaying a solid command of the English language
