DESIGN ENGINEER INTERN ROLE SUMMARY
The Engineering Team is a critical group within DI whose purpose is to turn remarkable ideas into reality. The members of the Engineering Team are experts at balancing creative intent while also setting up the Fabrication and Install teams for success as projects move through Production and out to the client site.
As a Design Engineer Intern you will work with our Engineering team and have the opportunity to work directly on client projects working through the realities of building objects out of metals wood plastics and other appropriate materials necessary to create remarkable experiences.

The Design Engineer Internship is an hourly (non-exempt) full-time opportunity that runs from June 1st 2026 - July 31st 2026. Applications will close on December 31 2025. This is an onsite Monday - Friday internship in our Kansas City location. You must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled as a college junior or senior or actively enrolled in a related postgraduate program. Please submit a portfolio with your application.
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and hold a valid drivers license. While performing the duties of this job employees may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
