Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a to Voice Communications Workstream Safety Lead join our team of qualified diverse individuals. The ideal candidate willprovide safety oversight compliance assurance and risk management across FAAsvoice communications this role you will ensure that safety considerations are fully embedded into thedesign integration testing and sustainmentof voice communication platforms including legacy-to-modern VoIP position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.

In this position you will:

  • Leadsafety risk managementactivities for FAA voice communication systems.

  • Develop safety documentation safety cases and compliance reports.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

  • Develop implement and overseesafety assessments hazard analyses and mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance withFAA Safety Management System (SMS) OSHA and federal safety requirements.

  • Provide safety input duringsystem design reviews modernization planning and readiness assessments.

  • Overseesafety testing validation and verificationof voice communication systems including VoIP.

  • Conductsafety audits inspections and incident investigationsto ensure compliance.

  • Collaborate with engineers contractors and stakeholders toembed safety requirements into system design and integration.

  • Maintain accurate and audit-readysafety documentation reports and risk registers.

  • Ensure safety considerations are integrated intomodernization programs such as NextGen.

  • Define and track safety performance metrics and continuous monitoring frameworks.

  • Providesafety briefings and recommendationsto FAA leadership and program stakeholders.

  • Work with engineers program managers and FAA stakeholders to ensure these critical systems meet the highest standards of safety resiliency and reliability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience; or Masters degree and 6 years; or Associates degree and 10 years experience; or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • Experience in system safety or safety leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of safety risk management frameworks and hazard analysis methodologies (FTA FMEA hazard logs).
  • Familiarity with voice communication systems VoIP or Radio-over-IP (RoIP) technologies.
  • Knowledge offederal acquisition processes and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience.
  • Experience applyingFAA Safety Management System (SMS) standards.

  • Familiarity withFAA voice switch systems legacy-to-modern communications and interoperability requirements.

  • Experience supportingFAA NextGen modernization programsor NAS voice communications initiatives.

  • Professional certifications such asCSP (Certified Safety Professional) CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer).

  • Familiarity withICAO international safety standardsfor air traffic communication systems.

  • Experience withautomated safety analysis tools or safety data visualization platforms.

  • Background inaviation communications infrastructure including ATC voice systems.
