The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local regulations including OSHA standards. This role supports a fast-paced highly regulated government/military environment and requires hands-on site engagement inspections and employee training.

• Develop implement and enforce environmental health and safety policies and procedures

• Ensure compliance with OSHA environmental and workplace safety regulations

• Conduct routine safety inspections audits and risk assessments

• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions

• Provide safety training and guidance to employees and leadership

• Support handling storage and shipping activities to ensure regulatory compliance

• Maintain accurate documentation reports and compliance records

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture

• Manage multiple EHS-related projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis

• U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)

• High School Diploma/GED plus 20 years of relevant experience
  OR Associates Degree plus 14 years of experience
  OR Bachelors Degree plus 12 years of experience
  OR Masters Degree plus 10 years of experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and environmental health and safety regulations

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

• Experience delivering safety training and presentations

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

• Ability to climb ladders and access elevated areas for inspections

• Comfortable performing on-site safety inspections in industrial or facilities settings

• Hybrid work environment with on-site presence required

• Experience in government military defense or highly regulated environments

• Background in facilities management manufacturing or environmental compliance

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
