DescriptionResponsible for patient care with supervising physician and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking diagnosis ordering of medications and diagnostics and performance of corrective preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient surgical and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System and the department of hire.
ResponsibilitiesRoles & Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration.
- Assesses patients needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician
- Provides health teaching guidance and counseling
- Makes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician
- Performs complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques
- Orders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician
- Orders medication in collaboration with physician
QualificationsRequirements:
- Bachelors Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Three to five years equivalent combination of education and experience required
- New York State license and current registration as aPhysician Assistant.
- NCCPA Certification through completion of national boards
- BLS/ACLS certification
- All credentialing documents not limited to but including NYS PA license and registration Diploma current PA certification ACLS BLS DEA etc
