Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Charge Auditor performs a clinical audit of the accuracy and completeness of all patient charges across the Surgical Services division bolstering managements control structure the organizations compliance function and internal audits effectiveness. The clinical charge audit ensures that all appropriate charges are captured per patient. The Charge Auditor investigates surgical case implants for correctness and pricing computes enters reconciles and audits in
voices for patient implants and provides support in pricing surgical procedures and other tests.
Responsibilities:
- Reconciles the number of charge sheets received in the Surgical Services to daily census
- Reviews patient charts for completeness and verifies that all information is accurately documented on the charge sheet
- Documents additions and corrects errors to charge sheet according to departmental standards
- Communicates with staff for needed documentation for accurate charging and billing
- Communicates departmental charging issues to the appropriate department manager

Job Requirements
Minimum:
Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience
5 years related experience
Preferred:
Knowledge of implant practices and equipment usage is extremely valuable based on the high cost of these line items
