We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Power BI Developer to join our data and analytics team. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in data modeling DAX and backend integration who is passionate about transforming complex data into scalable performant and insightful Power BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain robust Power BI datasets and data models using DAX and Power Query (M).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and frontend developers to translate reporting requirements into efficient backend data structures.
- Optimize data refresh performance and implement incremental data loading strategies.
- Integrate Power BI with various data sources including SQL Server Azure Synapse Dataverse and REST APIs.
- Ensure data quality governance and security across all Power BI assets.
- Support version control deployment pipelines and workspace management in Power BI Service.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data accuracy performance and access.
Required Qualifications:
- 35 years of experience in Power BI development with a focus on backend/data modeling.
- Proficiency in DAX Power Query (M) and SQL.
- Experience with Power BI Service including workspace configuration and dataset management.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g. Azure SQL Synapse Data Factory) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Power BI (e.g. using Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of enterprise-level reporting and dashboarding standards.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
- Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.
