Job Purpose
Working closely with the Finance Director and Head of Accounting the Shared Services Accountant is responsible for delivering a business-focused accounting service across ECFR. The role ensures the effective operation of financial systems and processes that support the organizations objectives and overall financial sustainability.
Main Responsibilities
- Timely & accurate processing of accounts payable expenses and payroll
- Manage and handle day-to-day associated accounting matters and ledgers
- Manage payments and support cash management
- Maintain and operate the accounting and associated business systems
- Own financial processes policies and internal controls related to the above
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
- Develop good working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the preparation of month-end financial reports
- Assist in month-end closing processes and procedures identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation responding to inquiries and assisting in the resolution of audit findings
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support overall ECFR organizational priorities.
Person Specification
Education- Masters or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
Experience- 3-5 years adequate and relevant hands-on accounting experience within a high-volume Shared Service Centre
- Demonstrates a firm understanding of financial business processes and internal control
IT Requirements- Proficient in the use of up-to-date accounting systems as well as in MS Office
- Proficiency in Office 365 in particular Microsoft Excel
