The Town of New Tecumseth is accepting College and University Co-op/Intern student applications to fill one Co-op/Intern position to commence in January 2025 for a 4-monthplacement.

Eligibility/Qualifications:

• Registered as a full-time post-secondary student at an accredited academic institution pursuing a degree or diploma in an engineering field preferably civil structural or environmental engineering
• Are legally entitled to work in Canada
• Returning to full-time studies in the next academic term
  • Note: students in their final year of academic study who do not intend to return to full-time studies are eligible for student employment until the time they graduate
• Hold a valid Ontario drivers licence (G)with access to a reliable vehicle
• Previous experience in an office environment is preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Exposure to AutoCAD and GIS software is an asset

Reporting to the Manager Capital Engineering this position is responsible for supporting the
Engineering department to meet service delivery needs. This will include backfilling activities
performing analytical work and supporting staff on planning initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with field inspections on capital and development projects
• Assists with field activities and inspections on capital projects including delivery of
• notices field surveys ticket taking etc.
• Assists with drawing and project file management
• Assists with the review of development and capital projects including plot plan reviews
• Assists in compiling field data with a GPS unit
• Assists with GIS data input
• Supports Engineering Department initiatives
• AutoCAD drafting

Wage Rate: $19.56 - $21.73/hr plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 35 hours per week 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Start Date: January2026
Location: Towns Administration Centre in Alliston
