Test Engineer I

POSITION SUMMARY:

Advanced Energy is seeking a skilled Test Engineer with a strong background in operating precision calibrated measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Octave and Python and be capable of independently writing programming scripts for automated testing. The position performs a variety of technical multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely flexible universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Fully In-Office Mon-Fri
• Location: Fort Collins CO
• Environment: Regularly working in lab office and manufacturing facilities
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $62500 to $87500 per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares test and diagnostic programs
• Develop and execute testing plans independently
• Test prototypes and present results to a small cross-disciplinary team
• Operate precision calibrated measurement equipment
• Write programming scripts for automated testing using Octave or Python
• Collaborate with a talented high-paced team that prides itself on delivering quality products

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing test environment
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence design team decisions
• Demonstrated experience solving complex technical problems with minimal assistance
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Expertise in programming automation and data collection
• Programming experience in Octave or Python

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of work experience in a related field
• Experience using calibrated test equipment
• Experience working on agile/scrum teams is a plus
• Familiarity with Jira is a plus

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering mechanical engineering or relevant engineering discipline
