- POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Librarian/Media Specialist shall be responsible for the overall library and computer center operation. This person works with other staff members in providing a comprehensive collection of carefully selected materials that supplement and enhance the school curriculum.
- QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS:
- The employee is a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both his or her professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and computer skills with the ability to present information concisely and effectively; handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Must organize and prioritize work multi-task and work independently with little supervision; Team player.
- EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree preferably in Library Science. Minimum of five (5) years related experience in Christian education preferred.
- Experience with Google & Microsoft platforms preferred and a working knowledge of Childrens literature.
Implement systems policies and procedures as outlined by the Administration.
Model cooperative respectful responsible and spiritually minded behavior.
Utilize a broad variety of teaching methods to match student learning styles.
Regularly assess student progress to provide differentiated instruction.
Maintain a program of individual professional growth.
Promote FBA and the principles of Kingdom Education.
Participate in spiritual activities at FBA such as prayer devotions Bible study and chapel.
Support the schools parent organization initiatives as it impacts the library and students.
Complete all requirements for ACSI certification.
Maintain a close personal walk with the Lord evidenced by lifestyle.
Observe the Matthew 18 principle in conflict resolution.
Fulfill all duties as assigned by the school administration.
Demonstrate a love for teaching and learning with enthusiasm.
Maintain a clean attractive media center that is conducive to learning.
Maintain and prepare an annual media center budget.
Plan and implement annual media center fundraisers.
Build and maintain an appropriate collection of print and non-print materials.
Plan and implement a biblically integrated lessons.
Punctual in attendance to faculty meetings devotions and all assigned responsibilities.
Available to assist others as needed promoting unity.
