About Us:
Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. Were offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations providing hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.
Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept It:
As an intern youll be more than just an observer. Youll be an integral part of our team working alongside experienced Scouters to:
- Gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs.
- Hone your communication problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Assist with program development fundraising initiatives marketing campaigns and more.
- Receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
- Fulfill your high school college or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).
What Youll Be Doing:
- Collaborating with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
- Documenting your learning journey through weekly activity logs.
- Participating in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
- Attending meetings training and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
- Completing assigned projects and tasks.
- Becoming a member of Scouting America and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
- A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising management or marketing (a plus!).
- Strong organizational self-motivation and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
- Schedule and hours are negotiable.
