Job Summary

The responsibilities of a Service Advisor include greeting customers listening to their needs scheduling appointments as needed being sure the right technician is assigned to the job advising guests of the costs of repairs and gaining their approval before the work is performed as well as calling them when their vehicle is ready with the final total then letting them know when and how they can pick up their vehicle.

Service Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers promptly

  • Obtain customer and vehicle information

  • Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer

  • Determine and recommend maintenance based upon age mileage and history of vehicle

  • Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts

  • Establish a follow up time

  • Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day and update customers frequently

  • Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order and is close or equalto the estimate

  • Explain all completed work and charges to customers

Service Advisor Requirements:

  • Previous experience at a Ford or new car store is a plus but not required

  • Ability to identify concerns quickly

  • Knowledge of automobiles

  • Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction is preferred

  • Past experience as a service advisor assistant lane manager or service consultant is preferred

  • Energetic happy personality

  • A desire for a long-term career with a growing organization

  • Personal and professional integrity

  • Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs

  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications

  • Minimum of 1 year in a service department is preferred

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
