Job Description
The Cathedral School is seeking a permanent full-time Secondary School Teacher specialising in Health and Physical Education to commence in January 2026. The ability to teach Biology or Psychology would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply professional knowledge by understanding how students learn and tailoring your teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrate strong content knowledge and use effective evidence-based strategies to teach Health Physical Education and Biology/Psychology in engaging and accessible ways.
- Plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with curriculum standards and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments where all students feel valued respected and motivated to succeed.
- Assess provide feedback and report on student learning to guide progress and support individual growth.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance your practice and stay current with educational developments.
- Collaborate professionally with colleagues parents/carers and the wider school community to support student achievement and wellbeing.
- Actively participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden your knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
What Were Looking For
- A qualified HPE teacher.
- Current teaching registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Relevant expertise in teaching Years 7-12 HPE.
- The capacity or willingness to teach Biology or Psychology would be advantageous.
