Job Summary
Sam Houston Elementary School is seeking a Library Teaching Assistant. This is a part-time 5.5 hour daily position (27.5hours/week) for the 2025-26 school year.
Education Certification and Related Work Experience:
- High School Diploma (2 years college preferred)
- Meets highly qualified requirements for classified staff
Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:
- Creates a positive high interest library environment thatsupports the love of reading.
- Knolwedgeable in childrens literature (preferred but not mandatory)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Performs circulation desk procedures such as checking in and checking out materials and assisting students withlocating books.
- Processes withdraws repairs or reconditions library materials.
- Shelves library materials and reads shelves.
- Assists with library programs and displays including book fairs.
- Assist the Librarian/Media Specialist with class materials and lessons.
- Assist in classroom management
- Performs other related work as required.
- Possess honesty integrity professionalism and a positive attitude
