This is a senior engineering role specializing in variable speed drives and power conversion systems responsible for advanced electrical research design and testing of drive products and control systems defining hardware architecture and performance requirements leading early development phases and applying deep expertise in power electronics motor control and analog/digital electronics while ensuring safety compliance manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
As a PCB Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Designing developing and testingvariable speed drives motor control circuits and power electronic systems
- Conducting/overseeing prototype builds for compliance to specifications efficiency and reliability
- Creating electrical schematics andPCBAs for power stage control boards and gate driver circuits
- Designing Altium-based wire harnesses and cablingfor drive systems including BOM generation and routing optimization
- Selecting components (IGBTs SiC/MOSFETs gate drivers magnetics sensors protection circuits) for drive applications
- Developing and executing VSD performance verification test plans(efficiency harmonic distortion thermal EMI/EMC)
- Analyzing failure modes reliability and drive performance improvements
- Developing mathematical models of motor-drive systems to guide design and validation
- Troubleshooting and refining prototypes/final products for power density thermal and manufacturability targets
- Resolving failure issues and identifying root causes; qualify alternate components for obsolete or supply-chain constrained parts
- Creating and maintaining documentation: BOMs harness drawings ECNs/EDNs test procedures and design packages
- Providing sustaining engineering support for existing VSD products and addressing field-return/production issues
- Collaborating with Product Management and Procurement to drive cost reductions and performance improvements
- Evaluating and introducing new power semiconductors passive components manufacturing techniques and design tools
- Managing prototype procurement supplier quoting ordering and material inspection
- Ensuring compliance withUL CE IECand IEEE 519standards for variable speed drives
- Coordinating with external labs for compliance (safety EMC/EMI efficiency testing)
- Supporting the companys Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and customer requirements)
- Training and mentoring junior engineers on PCB harness design and VSD development practices
Fuel your passion
- Have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of experience in power electronics or VSD design or a Masters with 4 years or a Ph.D. with 2 years along with at least 5 years as an Electrical Engineer I or equivalent.
- Have 3 years invariable speed drive / motor control design(power stage and control electronics)
- Have experience withAltium Designer for both PCB and wire harness design
- Have 5 years with electronic simulation tools (Altium PSIM MATLAB/Simulink etc.)
- Strongly preferred to have experience with PCB design for Power Electronics System (Gate Drive Design for Converters or Inverters)
