The Role
At the Bar Standards Board we regulate barristers in the public interest. The Communications and Engagement Officer will play a critical role in supporting the organisation to deliver high-quality integrated communications and stakeholder engagement that deliver the agreed business outcomes.
Working as part of a small and agile team the role encompasses both external and internal communications delivery ensuring effective alignment of messaging with our overarching strategy culture vision and values.
This hands-on role involves collaborating across the organisation to develop innovative initiatives that enhance the BSBs public profile while also strengthening internal communications ensuring that every member of our organisation is informed and engaged and supporting engagement with stakeholders to enhance the BSBs reputation through effective relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves collaborating closely with colleagues providing expert advice and recommendations on communications and stakeholder engagement. You will support internal and external communications through planning content creation media relations campaigns and will work across channels including websites and social media. You will support stakeholder engagement by producing briefings and attend regular meetings with senior leaders representing the organisation. The role involves using insights data and analytics to measure the impact and performance of our channels and activities.
Key skills and experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a flair for storytelling.
Strong brief writing skills
Robust understanding of media relations and strategic communications planning.
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement relationship management.
Ability to work in fast-paced conditions while managing multiple priorities.
Proactive independent decision-making paired with strong collaborative abilities.
Digital proficiency including Microsoft Office digital platforms and design tools that support content production and storytelling capability.
Insight into how communications underpin trust and confidence and shape an organisations reputation.
Internal and external communications experience.
