JOB OVERVIEW:
The Quality Technician 2 is responsible for performing a variety of tests to analyze quality and establish grade levels of product from various production lines to determine if the product meets specifications and informs appropriate personnel of non-conformities. Performs sanitation related duties by mechanically dismantling and re-assembling components of food processing equipment in addition to the floors walls and related facilities. Adheres to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety Food Security and Food Quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of QA inspection activities both in process and/or final inspection (includes basic math calculations and data entry of results) to determine the quality and grade of the product.
- Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification.
- Notifies appropriate personnel if test results do not meet specifications as needed.
- Understands and follows Blue Diamonds Line Certification Program HAACP procedures and CCP procedures.
- Capable of making informed quality-related decisions independently while escalating critical issues appropriately.
- Works with other plant personnel to ensure samples are collected according to documented procedures. Assist in pre-operational start up verifications.
- Calibrates and assists in maintenance of inspection instruments.
- Engaged in processing quality data for review and analysis including customer complaints.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED
*Minimum qualifications
- 2-5 years quality control experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be able to work variable shifts (day/swing and sometimes swing/grave).
- Knowledge of food processing and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP)
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. alone or 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Be able to maintain a high-speed fast-paced work area while keeping safety and quality in check.
- Responsible for independently managing the sorting room including organizing processing and monitoring workflow to maintain smooth operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust hazardous materials and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
