The RN Clinical Educator plays a key role in supporting clinical excellence and staff development across designing implementing and evaluating clinical education programs. This role collaborates with clinical leaders partners with educational institutions and supports workforce development aligned with Learning Center pillars: Leadership Integration Career Progression and Quality of Care.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops and delivers clinical education programs in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Coordinates clinical training experiences for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Medical Assistants (MA) and other clinical pathways.
Standardizes and streamlines competency-based training across primary care hospital and long-term care settings.
Supports leadership in identifying training needs aligned with departmental goals and patient care improvement.
Functions as a member of the HR Learning and Development team contributing to strategic workforce development initiatives.
Maintains educational tools simulation mannequins equipment and learning environments.
Serves as an educational resource to clinical staff and assists in the onboarding and continued development of new and existing employees.
Collaborates with staff and department managers to evaluate and improve clinical practices through evidence-based education.
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing; current unrestricted RN license in Alaska or any U.S. state (Alaska license must be active before start date).
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Nursing.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association
Instructor certifications for BLS ACLS and PALS preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Minimum 3 years of direct patient care experience.
At least 2 years in an acute care or hospital setting.
2 years of experience as a clinical educator or in a supervisory/training role preferred.
Knowledge of:
Clinical education principles and competency development.
Healthcare regulations and standards (CMS DNV State Board of Nursing).
Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Modern educational delivery methods (in-person and remote learning).
Skills in:
Facilitating group training and individual instruction.
Communication-both written and verbal-at a professional level.
Organization and management of training programs and schedules.
Collaborative development of evidence-based care standards and training modules.
Ability to:
Work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
