Job Title: Pharmacy Coordinator
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months (Possible Extensions)
Work Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM PST
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Coordinator I supports pharmacy operations by developing maintaining and coordinating the health plans pharmacy program. This role primarily involves configuring decision tools (questionnaires) within the MHK/Compass platform to support the prior authorization process ensuring compliance with policy requirements and operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Create configure and maintain decision tools (DT loaders) in Excel for upload into the MHK/Compass platform.
Conduct thorough testing to ensure all tools function as designed and align with policy and formulary guidelines.
Support the integration and updates related to Express Scripts and other system enhancements.
Receive and respond to provider and pharmacy inquiries regarding prior authorization and formulary processes.
Track and audit prior authorization overrides ensuring compliance with pharmacy and state guidelines.
Assist in the analysis of utilization patterns and cost trends.
Collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacy operations quality improvement and provider relations teams.
Maintain high attention to detail ensuring all configuration and documentation are accurate and completed on time.
Follow all policies procedures and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of pharmacy technician or pharmacy operations experience (PBM retail or managed care settings preferred).
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook Visio).
Experience with projects requiring strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
Prior exposure to pharmacy benefit management systems (e.g. MHK Compass or similar) preferred.
Licensure:
Pharmacy Technician License preferred but not required.
Key Skills
Strong pharmacy operations or pharmacy technician background.
Proficiency in Excel and general Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across remote teams.
Familiarity with prior authorization workflows PBM processes or pharmacy quality improvement.
Work Environment
Fully remote; collaboration primarily via Microsoft Teams and internal systems.
