The Director of Compensation is responsible for developing implementing and managing the organizations compensation strategy to attract motivate and retain top talent. This role ensures all programs are competitive equitable and aligned with the companys strategic objectives while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and lead the companys overall compensation strategy including salary structures short- and long-term incentive plans and commission programs.
Conduct market analyses to evaluate and benchmark compensation programs ensuring competitiveness and internal equity.
Develop and manage executive compensation programs in coordination with the executive team and/or compensation committee.
Oversee annual compensation processes including merit increases bonus planning and salary reviews.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local compensation laws and regulations (e.g. FLSA).
Partner with HR Business Partners and Finance to align compensation initiatives with budgeting workforce planning and talent strategies.
Provide guidance and training to HR and business leaders on compensation philosophy policies and decision-making frameworks.
Monitor trends best practices and regulatory changes to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant.
Prepare and present compensation reports dashboards and insights to senior leadership and the board as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Finance or related field (Masters degree or MBA preferred).
Professional certification (e.g. CCP SHRM-SCP or SPHR) strongly preferred.
10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a compensation leadership role.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and HRIS platforms (ADP experience preferred).
Exceptional communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with sales and commission compensation structures and programs.
