Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Cash Applications Specialist facilitates finance activities for the U.S. Shared Service Center. This position will post payments to the correct customer accounts on a daily basis. Inputs and retrieves data from computer systems. Reconciles accounts daily and applies payments accurately and efficiently. Other duties include deciding whether to accept a request for credit and ensuring there is a process for resolving issues. This role creates and applies manual cash receipts process spreadsheets and support auditor requests and reports directly to the Accounts Receivable Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Post incoming payments (ACH wire transfers checks credit cards) to correct customer accounts on a daily basis.
- Reconcile income payments against outstanding invoices and customer accounts.
- Inputs and retrieves data from computer systems and reconciles accounts daily
- Apply payments to customer accounts accurately and efficiently
- Review accounts receivable aging reports regularly and actively follow up on overdue payments escalating issues to the AR manager as necessary.
- Responsible foraccurate and timely payment analysis of contracts to determine that appropriate reimbursement is received.
- Proactively works with payers and in-house resources to identify and resolve issues that hinder optimal and correct account payment.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date customer records including payment terms credit limits and tax exemption documentation.
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing AR reconciliations and resolving unapplied cash balances.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with industry-specific financial regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent associate or bachelors degree preferred
- Experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience including interaction with a large customer base
- Excellent communication skills via telephone video conferencing email etc. as interactions with client customers will be frequent
- Superior ability to prioritize and focus in a high-paced multi-tasking environment
- Ability to learn new technology software skills quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Access.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $21 to $25 hourly.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
