Were looking for an Engineering Team lead to lead our Alchemy Design System team. Alchemy is Wolts internal design system powering our web and mobile products. While its not a public design system it plays a central role across our product development. This team is at the core of our user experience developing the critical shared UI components that empower product teams across Wolt. Youll work in close collaboration with both design and engineering to build the foundation of our product.

This is a distributed cross-functional team consisting of web and mobile engineers product designers a product lead and an engineering team lead. The team is based across Berlin Helsinki and Tallinn working in a hybrid model. We value autonomy and ownership and each team member plays a key role in shaping the product and driving it forward.

What youll be doing

This is a role with broad impact from hands-on technical guidance to championing web and mobile accessibility across the company. Were looking for a leader who excels at fostering collaboration and can confidently guide a concept from initial idea to robust implementation.

Day-to-day in this role youll:

• Lead mentor and grow a diverse and talented team of engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence and empathy.
• Own the technical roadmap and delivery for Alchemy Wolts design system ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
• Partner with product design and engineering leaders across the company to understand their needs and drive adoption of the design system.
• Champion accessibility embedding best practices into our development culture and ensuring our products are usable by everyone.
• Guide the team in making key architectural decisions that will scale for the future.

Our humble expectations

• 5 years of software development experience with a strong background in modern web or mobile engineering.
• 2 years of experience managing an engineering team with a genuine passion for helping people develop and succeed.
• Direct experience having built managed or made significant contributions to a design system.
