Lead Clinical Laboratory Assistant

Work hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday 3:30am-12:00pm

Heres What You Need
High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED
Associates degree preferred
o Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire preferred.
Three years experience in a medical setting REQUIRED
Customer Service experience highly preferred
What You Will Do
Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens
Coordinates timed routine ASAP and STAT draws to prevent multiple sticks to the patient and to prevent excessive blood volume draws.
Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students
Attend continuing education seminars webinars reads articles or otherwise demonstrate continuing education related to profession equal to 6 hours.
Participate in system entity or departmental performance improvement activities internal laboratory committees professional organizations or hospital sponsored community service activities.
Accountability demonstrated for information contained in emails
Communicates appropriately to supervisors regarding issues
Maintenance on centrifuges refrigerators etc performed as assigned
Performs assigned daily/weekly/monthly maintenance
