Job Description
This position exists to serve the students of Minnesota State University Mankato who are seeking mental health services. This in-person position is responsible for providing reception services scheduling appointments and meetings confidential record keeping communication with students and Counseling Center consumers budget maintenance purchasing and clerical services for the Counseling Center staff. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Minimum Qualifications
Respond effectively to clients coworkers and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures. (in person in writing on the phone and through presentations and other electronic correspondence)
Follow and explain laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures to clients coworkers and customers including client confidentiality.
Schedule and confirm customers appointments in person on the phone and through email and other written or electronic correspondence.
Accounting/budgeting/expense reporting sufficient to monitor and balance multiple budgets and grants.
Database management sufficient to develop and maintain databases and calendars for staff.
Respectfully engage with clients coworkers and customers when handling difficult or complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
Perform the duties with politeness respect and interest in positive problem solving.
Interpret and explain program information to customers clients and coworkers such as policy procedures eligibility requirements application details and payment methods.

Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Ability to learn mental health terminology sufficient to draft related documents and correspondence and engage students parents and employees in an appropriate manner.
Ability to learn explain and adhere to confidentiality in communication with and about clients.
Ability to successfully multi-task in a faced paced environment.
Comfort level working in crisis situations.
Skill in graphic design.
Proficiency in multiple software programs including Microsoft Office Suite Adobe etc.
Ability to set up and problem solve a variety of technology issues (windows PCs printers iPads etc.)
Ability and commitment to being punctual.
Other Requirements
Work safely at all times which includes but is not limited to participating and completing all required safety trainings as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools equipment and personal protective equipment.
