Job Summary (List Format):
- Oversees clerical activities and assists with non-nursing administrative functions in the Home Medical Equipment department.
- Supervises and educates secretarial staff.
- Acts as liaison to contractors and serves as key contact for internal and external staff regarding departmental activities.
- Processes purchase orders and assists in preparing and monitoring the department budget.
- Manages correspondence flow and maintains department manuals and records.
- Prioritizes workload and acts on own initiative.
- Performs secretarial tasks including screening calls typing filing and gathering data for statistical reports.
- Attends departmental meetings and records meeting minutes.
- Serves as a resource for the department by maintaining thorough knowledge of supervisors responsibilities.
- Assists nurse manager/department manager as needed.
- Qualifications: High school graduate with at least one year of college or business school (secretarial training).
- Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience; hospital/health care procedures and medical terminology preferred.
- Must have excellent secretarial communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English required.
