Join our Team as a Data Science Team Lead
Location: Gurgaon
Hours: UK Shift
About the role:
Are you a data-driven leader with a passion for building scalable solutions and empowering teams As a Data Science Team Lead youll play a pivotal role in shaping the development and management of internal and external data across Onecom and Onecom Partners. Youll lead a talented team of data engineers driving technical excellence architectural decisions and continuous improvement. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy combining hands-on expertise with strategic leadership this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
What makes you a great fit:
- 5 years experience in data engineering or a similar role
- Proficient in Python SQL and modern data stack tools
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data modelling
- Experience with dbt Apache Airflow and Google BigQuery
- Familiarity with Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- Skilled in version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proven leadership experience in mentoring and managing technical teams
- Passionate about continuous learning and innovation
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers supporting technical growth and career development
- Define and prioritize team goals aligned with business strategy
- Oversee project planning resource allocation and delivery timelines
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Establish and maintain coding standards processes and best practices
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Design and implement efficient data models and pipelines
- Ensure data quality accuracy and consistency across systems
- Monitor and optimize performance of data infrastructure
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the data function
