Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks across our organization. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in either Data Management or Engineering and who thrive in cross-functional environments. Experience in the Energy sector is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement data governance policies standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams to ensure data quality integrity and compliance.
- Establish data ownership and stewardship models across business units.
- Define and maintain metadata standards and data lineage documentation.
- Support data classification access controls and privacy initiatives.
- Conduct gap analyses and recommend improvements to existing data governance practices.
- Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data governance principles.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data governance data management or engineering roles.
- Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level data governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data architecture metadata management and data lifecycle.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR CCPA) and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Preferred: Experience in the Energy industry with knowledge of sector-specific data challenges.
Preferred Tools & Technologies:
- Expertise in Unity Catalog or Purview tools
- Experience in data platforms such as Data bricks Microsoft Fabric
