Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking a Construction Safety Intern for our summer 2026 program. The Safety Intern assists with implementing site-specific safety programs monitoring work for regulatory compliance conducting safety inspections and participating in safety training and recordkeeping. Key responsibilities include developing procedures reviewing work plans investigating incidents and performing audits to ensure a safe working environment. This role requires strong communication skills proficiency in common office software and often involves travel to various construction sites. This is a paid full-time internship that will last for 11 weeks (May 18th- July 31st).

Job Duties May Include:

Attends safety meetings to remain involved in project progress and safety matters as appropriate.

Helps enforce government and company regulations to ensure associate and subcontractor compliance by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues.

Reviews documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete accurate and submitted per established procedures.

Assists with the development and implementation of job-specific safety plans.

Schedules jobsite visits and safety audits.

Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)

Accompanies safety professionals on job site inspections.

Helps conduct work area inspections and assists in personal injury and property damage investigations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree preferably in Safety Occupational Health or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel Word etc.)
  • Strong planning and multitasking skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills flexibility and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
