In this role youll:

Joining the Property Development and Divestment (PDD) team situated in the Property Development and Land Access Branch of the Infrastructure Projects and Engineering Division.

Reporting to the Director Property Development and Divestment and supported by a team of professionals your role will be pivotal in delivering strategic property development initiatives across the Transport property portfolio supporting whole-of-government priorities including housing delivery infrastructure optimisation and land use efficiency. Specifically you will be responsible for front end development evaluation feasibility studies and progressing projects through to transaction readiness or inter-agency transfer.

The PDD team identifies evaluates and progresses underutilised and surplus properties through the development lifecycle. The team ensures that property is effectively planned developed and prepared for divestment or transfer maximising public value and aligning transport functionality with commercial viability.

This role involves the oversight of high-value and high-impact property development initiatives within a dynamic and complex public sector environment requiring demonstrated capability in strategic planning commercial project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary internal and external teams to identify and progress development opportunities within the Transport property portfolio
  • Lead feasibility assessment planning and project scoping activities
  • Lead development project management from initial concept through to divestment handover or inter-agency transfer
  • Support and implement land use strategies that reflect government policy objectives
  • Ensure transport operational requirements are preserved throughout all development phases
  • Provide strategic input into property portfolio planning and pipeline development

This is a full-time ongoing Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level roles.

About You

  • Substantial experience in property development strategic planning and feasibility within transport or infrastructure environments.
  • Essential background in Front-end land/property development to name a few including: identification planning origination analysis and prioritisation optioneering selection method and how to build pipeline of mixed use multi-million dollar projects.
  • Strong demonstrated commercial acumen and good understanding of divestment principles.
  • Understand the sensitive nature of operating within a high-profile organisation subject to intense media scrutiny and public interest.
  • Resilient in nature and solution driven to deliver value using outcomes led logic-based approach to work
  • A hands-on contributor who thrives in fast-paced environments and drives progress.
  • Confident working independently and influencing diverse stakeholders with a long-term relationship-focused approach to achieving results and have the patience to see results unfold over time.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects make informed decisions and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills across government industry and community settings.
  • Experience working in high-demand risk-sensitive operational environments with competing priorities.
  • Successful track record in leading property development programs aligned to strategic and policy frameworks.
  • Skilled in managing multidisciplinary teams and supporting professional development.
  • Adaptable and forward-thinking with a strong customer focus and familiarity with matrix reporting structures.
