The Financial Control team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with external and internal policies rules and regulations.
A successful Financial Controller at SAS strives to produce robust and reliable financial statements acts as an ambassador for internal control has in-depth knowledge of the companys accounting processes and continuously seeks improvements. This is achieved through direct accounting work as well as the supervision of outsourced accounting processes.


This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to anticipate potential issues while delivering timely resolutions. As Financial Controller you will be responsible for accounting and financial reporting within your area of business.
You will collaborate closely with the Business controllers and report to the Head of Financial Control at our SAS office in Frösundavik.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee Accounting Operations: Manage the accounting reconciliation and balancing of accounts including supervision of outsourced accounting processes (Record to Report - RTR).
Manage Month-End Closing: Lead the month-end closing process and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Group Accounting Team.
Annual Accounting Tasks: Perform annual accounting duties including preparation of annual reports and income tax returns.
Audit Support: Provide regular and ad hoc support for internal and external audits
Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
Strengthen Internal Controls: Enhance internal control processes to safeguard financial integrity
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency
Drive Process Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with the business to enhance financial operations
Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide strategic insights by analyzing comprehensive financial data to support decision making

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
At least 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role (e.g. Auditor Accountant)
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Experience with internal control frameworks
Advanced skills in MS Office particularly Excel experience working in ERP and/or EPM systems (e.g. Tagetik) is an asset.
Fluency in a Scandinavian language and English both spoken and written
Interest in process automation and experience with automation tools is an advantage
Experience in driving efficiency initiatives within finance such as process optimization or workflow improvement

Position: Fulltime (100%)

This position is based in Frösundavik Solna (Stockholm) and you will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option depending on the agreement made with your manager.
