Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Engineering & Reliability Leader, the engineering intern is responsible to successfully navigate engineering requests and aid in data gathering while learning project management and facility maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- 1. Personal Safety
- a. Learn and Work safely within the Corteva site safety requirements.
- b. Must be able to walk site, climb ladders, hot/ cold work environments, and wear proper Personnel Protective Equipment as needed at all times.
- c. Actively participate in safety activities and follow all safety guidelines.
- 2. Reliability
- a. Asset tagging of serviceable assets on all systems.
- b. Fill out data capture forms for equipment as needed.
- c. Interact with emaint (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) to ensure assets are properly entered into the system for future maintenance activities.
- 3. Engineering & Computer Aided Design
- a. Help with CAD design and changes for small projects
- b. Organize O&M manuals and as-built drawing library
- c. Validate equipment & process information out on the campus for engineers
Knowledge:
- 1. Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Incumbent requirements are to be working on a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent.
- a. Preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- b. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- 2. Management Diversity: Must be able to budget time effectively and efficiently to organize their work load.
- 3. Human Relations: Interpersonal skills include interacting with Maintenance and Operations personnel, union and non-union contract labor and companies, management, engineering peers, and R&D personnel.
Problem Solving:
Be able to apply problem-solving techniques used in engineering classes to accomplish responsibilities outlined previously.
Other Significant Factors:
For the Intern, wonderful opportunities to see ?real? equipment in operation and understand how different departments and functions interact and accomplish team goals while have individual skill-sets and abilities.
